Writ Of Possession
A court order that authorizes the sheriff or constable to physically remove a tenant from the property. Issued after the landlord wins the eviction hearing and the appeal period (10 days in Tennessee) expires. The writ gives the tenant a final deadline to vacate, typically 48 hours. Only law enforcement can execute a writ. The landlord cannot do it themselves.
