Pet Deposit
An additional deposit collected from tenants who have pets, intended to cover potential pet damage. Separate from the security deposit. Some landlords charge a one-time pet deposit of $200-$500 and/or monthly pet rent of $25-$50. Remember: you cannot charge a pet deposit for a service animal or emotional support animal with proper documentation. That is a fair housing violation.
