Asbestos Disclosure
The obligation to inform tenants about known asbestos-containing materials in the property. Common in properties built before 1980, found in floor tiles, insulation, popcorn ceilings, and pipe wrapping. Asbestos is not dangerous if undisturbed, but tenants need to know it exists so they do not drill into it or sand it during approved modifications. Disclosure protects both the tenant's health and the landlord's liability.
