Income Verification

Confirming that a rental applicant earns enough to afford the rent. Standard requirement is gross monthly income of 3x the monthly rent. For a $1,200/month unit, that means $3,600/month or $43,200/year. Verify with pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements. Self-employed applicants need two years of tax returns. Verbal confirmation from an employer is not verification.
