Application Fee

The non-refundable fee a tenant pays to apply for a rental. Covers the cost of credit check, background check, and processing time. Memphis standard is $35-$75 per applicant. Tennessee does not cap application fees, but charging significantly more than the actual screening cost invites scrutiny. Every adult over 18 who will live in the unit should submit a separate application and fee.
