Accredited Investor
An individual with a net worth over $1 million (excluding primary residence) or annual income over $200,000 ($300,000 joint) for the past two years. Accredited investors can participate in private placements, syndications, and other investment opportunities not available to the general public. The SEC created this designation to limit access to higher-risk investments to those who can absorb the loss.
